This introductory workshop will introduce participants to the practice and methods of oral history. You will explore, plan and prepare for an oral history interview.

Date:  9 June
Time: 10:15 for 10:30 start am to 3:30pm
Cost: $80 non-members, $50 members
Venue: Northwest room, State Library of WA

The workshop will cover:

  •  What is Oral History?
  • Qualities of a Good Interviewer
  • Planning an Oral History Interview
  • Interview Ethics
  • Hands-on Practice of Recording
  • Advice on Recording Equipment.

The workshop will be led by experienced oral historians, including OHWA Chairperson Susan Hall and Dr Alison Atkinson-Phillips.
