A recording of Oral History Victoria’s latest Talking about Listening event featuring Oral History Handbook author Beth Robertson and former OHV president Alice Garner is now available online.
The Talking about Listening occasional series involves two oral historians discussing oral history practice.
On this occasion, held on 7 May 2026, Alice and Beth discuss the history of the Oral History Handbook and how it has changed since it was first published in 1983.
Beth Robertson has authored all six editions of the Oral History Handbook, which has long been the go-to guide for oral historians in Australia. The recently-released sixth edition is self-published under the auspices of Oral History Australia (OHA).
